DUSTY CARR CONFESSES ROLE IN CUBAN REVOLUTION

- Entertainer elaborates on his friendship with Che Guevara -

Las Vegas, NV, August 2, 2005 (API) - Fresh from his two-month triumph in the Las Vegas magic-comedy spectacular 'Siegfried and Dusty: Straight and Loving It', entertainer Dusty Carr took time to discuss his long-rumored role in the Cuban revolution of January 1959.

Carr's revelations were prompted by recently released CIA documents that clearly indicate his contribution to the revolution, in particular, his friendship with the hard-line Argentine Marxist Ernesto 'Che' Guevara.

"I liked Che for the most part," said Carr, "with the only problem being he was a godless, American-hating, filthy Communist. But he knew how to party - and party really hard. Few people can mix that level of alcohol and amyl nitrate and still live. God bless Guevara."

The CIA contends that in 1960 Guevara attempted to convince Fidel Castro to appoint Carr as Minister of Culture and Gaming. A Cuban spokesperson confirms that Castro has acknowledged Carr's contribution to the revolution by quietly naming him 'Hero of the Revolution', the only American so honored.

Carr's role in the Cuban revolution has been speculated on for decades. Carr goes no further than admitting that he "messed it up a little with Fidel, Che and the boys" during those "lonely days in the Sierra Maestra. I knew [Cuban dictator] Batista was toast, but he owed me over thirty grand for personal appearances. Basically, I bet on the winners - and Fidel paid off! You've got to love that."
