DUSTY CARR FEATURED ON NEW GLEN NEVOUS SINGLE

- Rock legend demonstrates 'genius-level' tambourine work -

Ottawa, Canada, June 12, 2001 - Dusty Carr today announced his participation with the H.O.P.E. (Homeless and Orphaned Pets Endeavour) project, appearing with the Ottawa-based band 'Glen Nevous' on a cover version of the 'Mild 7' song 'Not My Good Eye'.

Houston-based 'Mild 7', widely known for its unique approach to low-fi, alternative pop music, recently asked a group of musicians it admires to provide cover versions of selected 'Mild 7' songs, to be compiled on a CD entitled 'Songs We Learned in Texas', the proceeds of which will go to H.O.P.E.

"For the song 'Not My Good Eye', we needed a guy who could really shake a tambourine, " said Chris Page, guitarist with Glen Nevous. "And everybody in the business knows the best 'tam' man is Dusty Carr. I mean, this guy taught Davy Jones of the Monkees everything he knows. We begged Dusty to show up, and he demonstrated some genuis-level work. It was a little weird because Dusty fell asleep a lot in the studio. He said that he was on the tail end of a two-week bender. In fact, if you listen to the recording, you can hear me yelling 'Dusty!' just before his tambourine work was needed. It was a wake-up call. But that's just the price of dealing with someone of such natural abilities."

"I was really looking forward to meeting Dusty," said Dave Draves, a producer at Little Bullhorn Productions. "He's such a legend. At the beginning of this session, he was a consummate professional. But then something terrible happened. He began to sweat very heavily and screamed that his teeth were growing. We were all pretty scared and I'm glad it's over."

"I love animals," said Carr, "especially when they're in a cage or on a choke-collar, so I really gave this H.O.P.E. thing my total commitment. I truly believe that all animals should be homeless and orphaned. I mean, that's natural. And I dig this because it reminds me of a time when people weren't such little greed-heads and were actually sharing their talents. If someone wants to call on my unique gifts, that's fine with me brother."
