DUSTY CARR RELEASES NEW MUSIC - FINALLY

- Singing legend prepares to headline at Flamingo Las Vegas -

Los Angeles, California, February 22, 2005 (CNI) - 'Dusty After Dark', the first new, original music recorded by legendary singer Dusty Carr in fifteen years, is being released tomorrow amidst hype usually reserved for super groups.

"I've worked in this business for 35 years," said Richard Kimbell, A & R chief at RCA Records, "and I've never seen greater demand for product. The Dusty Carr phenomenon is officially unstoppable."

Carr, who has become as well known for his hard-living lifestyle as his music, said the time was right to head back into the studio. "Most of the entertainers that are really, truly talented are dead. From Charlie Parker to Jackie Wilson to Bobby Darin to Sammy Davis, I don't know how it happened, but just look around. I mean, why don't we just compare the careers of Frank Sinatra and, I don't know, Lil' Kim? Come on! Shit, people should know true talent - as a kind of bookend. So the least I could do was write a few new tunes that would easily tower over the current urinal foam that we call contemporary music."

'Dusty After Dark' ranges from slow-tempo ballads, such as the soul-wrenching "Never With a Skank", to foot-tapping rockabilly, "You're Fat But(t) That's OK".

"What I've done is sum up fifty years of success, terror and disappointment," said Carr. "Few people have lived a life as diverse and exciting and weird as mine. That's a fact. So I want you to take my pain and learn from it, similar to the way Jesus Christ taught people."

'Dusty After Dark' is being released exclusively on vinyl as a 33-1/3 LP. "We felt that it goes with Carr's retro appeal," explained Kimbell. "Plus, Dusty feels that CDs are unmanly."
