DUSTY CARR TO REVEAL HIS JFK CONNECTION

- Upcoming tell-all autobiography includes JFK's Vegas trysts -

NEW YORK, New York, February 15, 2001 - Speaking at the National Booksellers Association annual convention, pop music icon Dusty Carr said his upcoming autobiography would include details surrounding his friendship with President John F. Kennedy.

Carr's previous autobiography, 'My Life, My Love, My Hell', hinted at his JFK connection, with a chapter entitled 'How I got JFK lots of Broads'. However, the book provided no elaboration or any details whatsoever about the late president. 'My Life' is considered by many to be among the most egotistical, self-pitying celebrity confessionals ever published.

Carr's publicist, Mandy Silver, said there had been a stiff bidding war for Carr's upcoming book. "You only have to look in Carr's eyes to know he has a lot of weird tales to tell," said Silver. "I've spent twenty-five years in this business and worked with a lot of difficult artists, but no one comes close to Carr, with the possible exception of Jerry Lewis. Carr has truly gone over to the dark side."

Tentatively titled, 'Autumn Leaves and Dry Heaves', the new autobiography covers the years 1959 to 1974. "Much happened to me back then," Carr reflected during a raucous, standing room-only press conference. "But I guess what everyone wants to hear about is JFK, which is stupid because I hung out with a lot more interesting people than him. I mean, I knew Jimi Hendrix when he was still playing in Little Richard's band. But none of you pinheads cares about that. Your idea of a gifted artist is Britney Spears."

Carr said that he first met JFK in 1959 at the Copa Room in Jackie Entratter's Sands Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. "He was a nobody then," said Carr, "just another corrupt senator with nice hair, so I took him out to dinner and introduced him to famous people."

When questioned about his role as 'JFK's pimp', Carr suddenly stood up and overturned a table. "Do I look like a pimp?" he shouted. "A friend does not charge another friend for getting him broads. He does it out of the goodness of his heart. John Kennedy liked a little tail. So what? Is that somehow abnormal? Anyway, Bill Clinton makes JFK look like a paralyzed eunuch. Listen now, I was Johnny's friend. I never accepted anything from him, with the exception of some jewelry, cash and Cuban cigars."

Harman Brace will publish 'Autumn Leaves and Dry Heaves' in the fall of 2002.
